The Hungarian Water and Wastewater Technology Association (MaSzeSz) organised its annual conference this year in cooperation with the University of Public Service, Faculty of Water Sciences focusing on the sustainability of water utility services. The event was held on 22 March, on World Water Day, and was chaired by President János Áder. The conference, which was broadcasted live online, was followed by hundreds of people throughout the day. With more than 30 speakers, the conference explored how the valuing of water supports a circular economy, and the cooperation between water users (science, industry, industry, agriculture, citizens) create a water-conscious society. Other key issues included the supply of professionals in the sector and the difficulties in doing so, and how the value of water can become a driver of knowledge and innovation. The full-day event, divided into five panel discussions, explored the importance of recognising the value of water from the perspectives of individuals, service providers, financial investors, education experts and water companies. The CEO of Puraset Ltd., Mr. István Zádor presented their researches and new solutions in the field of water purification. With 5 more water specialists they discussed the best practices in water industry. The participants of the panel discussion agreed that new innovations are inevitable for sustainable water managment in the coming years.
