We were at the WATREX exhibition in Cairo again this year

Content

Now in its sixth year, the International Water and Wastewater Technology Exhibition and Conference (Watrex) is a major international water-related trade event. This year it had more than 10,000 visitors and over 400 exhibitors from all over the world. Our company participated as a co-exhibitor at the Farid Hassanein Group stand together with Pureco Ltd. We presented our modular water purification system PurAID® container, ideal for smaller municipalities. The adsorbent-based, easy-to-move, pallet-mounted unit purifies 6000 liters of water per day. Our first pilot project in Africa, in Akim Wenchi, Ghana, is already up and running, and our aim is to install further units in Egypt and other interested African communities that need an easy-to-operate device. At our shared stand, visitors had the possibility to take a virtual tour of Ghana, using VR glasses to get a glimpse of the municipal wastewater treatment plant in Kumasi, built by Pureco Ltd. The plant uses a unique technology (Septopure® technology) to treat 100% of fecal wastewater thus providing a long-term sustainable solution for more than two million people.. It also ensures the complete and orderly collection of liquid waste concentrated from the fields and its treatment for living water reception and reuse as process water or irrigation water. During the exhibition, we held a number of professional and business meetings and had the opportunity to meet personally with Ambassador András Kovács, who is very helpful in exploring business opportunities in Egypt. We are pleased that during the three days of the exhibition there was an intense interest in Hungarian expertise and water solutions from both the North African country and other visitors to the international event. With this presence, we have also managed to strengthen our external relations and raise awareness that the Hungarian water industry is at the forefront of finding sustainable solutions and offering innovative technologies at affordable prices to its partners.

Our first project in Ghana, the trial operation of our PurAID® modular, mobile, pallet-based water purification equipment installed in the settlement of Akim Wenchi, has been successfully completed. With the help of PurAID®, iron and manganese impurities, as well as disease-causing bacteria, are removed from the water of the public wells of the town of 12,000 inhabitants.
