Abidjan in the spotlight of water professionals

Content

For the first time, the Faecal Sludge Management Alliance (FSMA) will partner with the African Water Association to co-host the 21st AfWA Congress & Exhibition and the 7th International Faecal Sludge Management Conference in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, to bring together water and sanitation in this joint event, including faecal sludge management.

This international conference was very important for Puraset, as it was the only meeting focusing on the treatment of wastewater in areas without sewage and with the challenge of providing healthy drinking water for people in Africa.

Our PurAID® drinking water purification system, developed by us and already in use in Ghana, can provide clean, potable water to people in isolated rural areas without the need for a drinking water network.

Our involvement was multi-layered, Dr Károly Kovács, the President of the Hungarian Water Partnership, and the head of our group of companies gave a professional presentation. Furthermore, the Pureco Group also had its stand at the exhibition accompanying the conference, where we presented our PurAID® technology solutions to interested visitors.

More than 3,000 participants from all over the world attended the international congress, where plenary and breakout sessions were held, followed by keynote speeches by recognised experts, and an interactive dialogue on the challenges facing the sector.

More than 130 exhibitors took part in the expo that was organised within the framework of the conference. Pureco's stand was visited by hundreds of visitors. The interest in our technology solutions from the region was very high, and our stand hosted several business meetings and expert discussions.

We were delighted to be an active participant in the FSMA bi-annual faecal sludge-focused event this year, and look forward to the next conference in Asia in two years.
